  • ‘Beetlejuice Beetlejuice’ Rated PG-13 for “Violent Content” and “Bloody Images”

#BeetlejuiceBeetlejuice #TimBurton #HorrorMovies #MichaelKeaton #WinonaRyder #JennaOrtega #CatherineOHara #WillemDafoe #MonicaBellucci #HorrorFans #CultClassic #MPARating #PG13 #HorrorSequel #AfterlifeMayhem Get ready, horror fans! Tim Burton’s highly anticipated sequel, "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice," is headed to theaters on September 6. This week, the official MPA rating has been revealed. Unlike the original family classic "Beetlejuice," which was rated “PG” back in 1988, the upcoming sequel from Warner Bros. has been rated “PG-13” by the MPA. "Beetlejuice Beetlejuice" has earned its “PG-13” rating for “violent content, macabre and bloody images, strong language, some suggestive material, and brief drug use.” It’s interesting to note that the original "Beetlejuice" was released four years after the creation of the “PG-13” rating but still managed to secure a “PG” rating, despite featuring a memorable F-bomb. Go figure! This year’s sequel stars Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder, reprising their iconic roles. They are joined by an exciting cast that includes Jenna Ortega, Catherine O’Hara, Willem Dafoe, and Monica Bellucci. Here’s the official plot synopsis: “After an unexpected family tragedy, three generations of the Deetz family return home to Winter River. Still haunted by Beetlejuice, Lydia’s life is turned upside down when her rebellious teenage daughter, Astrid, discovers the mysterious model of the town in the attic and accidentally opens the portal to the Afterlife. With trouble brewing in both realms, it’s only a matter of time until someone says Beetlejuice’s name three times, and the mischievous demon returns to unleash his very own brand of mayhem.” The original classic, directed by Tim Burton in 1988, has become a cult favorite. It starred Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis as ghosts who haunt their old home. When a little girl (Winona Ryder) accidentally unleashes a mischievous ghost (Michael Keaton), the ghosts try to drive the homeowners (Catherine O’Hara and Jeffrey Jones) out of the house.

  • The Mysterious History of the Ouija Board

#OuijaBoard #Supernatural #Occult #Spiritualism #HorrorHistory #Paranormal #Mystical #HorrorWebsite #Haunted #Ghosts The Ouija board, a tool often associated with the supernatural and the occult, has a long and intriguing history that has fascinated people for over a century. This seemingly simple board, adorned with letters, numbers, and a planchette, has been the subject of countless horror stories, movies, and personal anecdotes. But where did it all begin? Origins of the Ouija Board The origins of the Ouija board can be traced back to the late 19th century, a time when spiritualism was at its peak. Spiritualism, the belief that the dead can communicate with the living, gained immense popularity in the United States and Europe. People were eager to connect with their lost loved ones, and mediums were in high demand. In 1890, Elijah Bond, a businessman, and Charles Kennard, an inventor, created the first commercial Ouija board. They claimed that the board could answer questions about the past, present, and future with remarkable accuracy. The name "Ouija" itself is said to have come from the board during a session, where it spelled out the word, which it claimed meant "good luck" in ancient Egyptian. The Rise to Popularity The Ouija board quickly became a household name. In 1901, William Fuld took over the production of the board and marketed it as a mystical oracle and a fun parlor game. Fuld's marketing strategies were highly successful, and the Ouija board became a popular pastime, especially during times of uncertainty, such as World War I and the Great Depression. The Ouija Board in Popular Culture The Ouija board's association with the supernatural was solidified in the 1970s with the release of the horror film "The Exorcist." The movie depicted a young girl becoming possessed after using a Ouija board, and this portrayal cemented the board's reputation as a tool of the occult. Since then, the Ouija board has appeared in numerous horror films, books, and TV shows, further embedding it in popular culture as a symbol of the unknown and the eerie. Controversies and Skepticism Despite its popularity, the Ouija board has always been surrounded by controversy. Many religious groups have condemned its use, claiming it opens doors to malevolent spirits. Skeptics, on the other hand, argue that the board's movements are a result of the ideomotor effect, where the users unconsciously move the planchette themselves. Modern-Day Ouija Today, the Ouija board remains a popular item, both as a game and a tool for those interested in the paranormal. It continues to be a subject of fascination and fear, with many people swearing by its powers and others dismissing it as mere superstition. Whether you believe in its mystical abilities or not, the Ouija board's place in the history of the supernatural is undeniable. It serves as a reminder of humanity's enduring curiosity about the afterlife and the unknown.
